Before starting a restoration project, you need to have a good idea of what you want to achieve. Once this is established you can then investigate how you might reach your objectives.

Planning ensures that your group has:

  • an agreed vision and objectives
  • documented management actions
  • the necessary resources (e.g. equipment, funds, volunteer power)
  • checked for wāhi tapu (sacred places) and other cultural heritage sites
  • the best chance of success.
